CTC Fire Students Have Busy Saturday
Several CTC Fire students had a busy Saturday. Five CTC Fire students are currently enrolled in a 1152 Basic Firefighter Class taking place in Anderson County. Mr. Riddle is serving as an assistant instructor in the class. On Saturday the students got their first opportunity to enter a burning building in a training scenario. The 1152 class finished up around 2:30 pm. At 3:30 the Belton Fire Department along with Cheddar, Friendship, Honea Path, and Williamston Fire Departments were alerted to a working structure fire on Washington St. in Belton. Four CTC students who are members of these departments and Mr. Riddle responded to the fire. The students got a first hand look at firefighters in action and were able to gain valuable knowledge that will help them as they pursue a career in firefighting.
